1. Data we collect
- Contact details: full name, email address, phone or WhatsApp number, country or city of residence.
- Trip details: destinations, dates, number of travellers, services, interests, budget range, accommodation and transport preferences, and any notes you share.
- Group trip registrations: emergency contact name and phone, dietary needs, number of travellers, photo and video consent choices.
- Community sign-ups: whether you join as a traveller or partner, and your country.
- Payment records: amounts, references and payment status. We do not store card or mobile money PINs.
- Messages: emails, SMS and WhatsApp conversations you have with our team.
2. Why we use it
- To review your request, prepare a proposal and coordinate your trip with confirmed providers.
- To confirm registrations, request deposits or balances, and send booking, pickup and safety updates.
- To contact your emergency contact if something happens during a trip.
- To cater for dietary and accessibility needs you tell us about.
- To send launch and group-trip updates when you have asked to receive them. You can opt out at any time.
- To keep financial records and meet legal obligations.
3. Sensitive information
Dietary, health or accessibility information is optional. We use it only to plan your trip safely, share it only with the providers who need it (for example, a caterer or guide), and delete it with your booking record.
4. Who we share it with
We share only what is needed with confirmed trip providers (transport, accommodation, guides, venues) once your plan is confirmed. We also use trusted service providers that process data on our behalf: Supabase (secure database), Vercel (website hosting), Resend (email delivery), Twilio (SMS) and WhatsApp (messaging). Some of these providers store data outside Ghana under appropriate safeguards. We never sell your personal data.
5. Photos and video
Some group trips include a guided photo and video experience. We only use identifiable images of you in promotional content if you gave optional consent on the registration form. You can withdraw that consent at any time by contacting us; we will stop using the images in new content.
6. Cookies and local storage
The public website does not use advertising or tracking cookies. We use Vercel Web Analytics, which counts page visits and actions such as sending a trip request without cookies and without identifying you personally. We use your browser’s local storage to remember small preferences, such as having closed the upcoming-trip announcement. Staff sign-in to the admin area uses essential authentication cookies.
7. How long we keep it
We keep trip requests and bookings for as long as needed to deliver the service and meet accounting and legal requirements, then delete or anonymise them. Community sign-ups are kept until you unsubscribe or ask us to delete them.
8. Your rights
- Ask for a copy of the personal data we hold about you.
- Ask us to correct or delete your data.
- Object to or withdraw consent for marketing and promotional use.
- Complain to the Data Protection Commission of Ghana if you believe your data has been mishandled.
